Princeton Leaders

I chose to do the Princeton Community.
Some of the Key leaders in Princeton, Mn are:
Mayor Jeremy Riddle

Councilor Victoria Hallin

Councilor Dick Dobson

Princeton is a statutory Type A city with a Mayor/Council form of government. The mayor and four councilors are elected at large for two and four year terms. The current City Hall located at 705 Second Street North was purchased by the City in 1994 and houses the Administration, Finance, Community Development and Police Departments. The City Council has regularly scheduled meetings in the Council Chambers at City Hall on the second and fourth Thursdays and a study session on the first Thursday each month(http://www.princetonmn.org/).

Mayer Jeremy Riddle says that the top priority for 2009 is money. By this he means budgeting. Federal Government economic-stimulus money could be part of the city's business agenda. The city officials will be seeking for ways to save money in operating the city in light of more potential cuts in aid by the state. With the number of foreclosures, and job losses he is hoping to help build up the economy in Princeton.

He also had a list of utility and street projects that he said the council hopes to accomplish, some possibly with federal help. An example he gave was continuing to plan for the scheduled replacement of the Highway 95 bridge just east of Rum River Drive in 2010.

Here is the website for the city of Princeton if anyone is interested. You can look at many things such as all of the different city officials, agendas and minutes of meetings, community service, and many other things.

  1. Good listing of issues. The economy seems to be overriding just about everything else. Enjoyed your post.

  3. There is a tool to "wrap" pictures around the text. Possibly this would give it a softer feeling. Thanks for sharing!

  4. I like that you listed the street and utility projects the council hopes to accomplish. It shows not only what they are working on, but what they look forward to completing.

Good post, and I like the addition of photos, but I think it could have been sharpened with direct quotes from the mayor and a more personal feel for your own attitudes toward the community. See Genieveve Ashenfelter's March 6 blog (http://ashenfelter-genevieve.blogspot.com) as near perfect example of the genre.
